🧹 How to Clear Website Cache and CDN Cache

If you’ve made updates to your website but the changes aren’t showing right away, it’s likely due to cached content. Clearing your website cache and CDN (Content Delivery Network) cache forces browsers and servers to show the latest version of your site.

🧠 What Is Cache?

Caching temporarily stores copies of web pages, images, and files so they load faster for visitors.
There are three common types:

  • Browser cache: Stored on your visitor’s device.

  • Website cache: Stored by WordPress or your server.

  • CDN cache: Stored across multiple global servers (like Cloudflare).

Clearing these caches refreshes your site instantly for everyone.

🔐 Step 1: Log In to Your WordPress Admin

  1. Go to https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin.

  2. Log in using your admin credentials.

  3. Depending on your caching setup, follow the method below.

⚙️ Step 2: Clear WordPress or Plugin Cache

If You Use LiteSpeed Cache

  1. Hover over LiteSpeed Cache in the top admin bar.

  2. Click Purge All → All Caches.

  3. Refresh your homepage to confirm the update.

If You Use WP Rocket

  1. In the top admin bar, click WP Rocket → Clear Cache.

  2. You can also go to Settings → WP Rocket → Dashboard and click Clear Cache or Preload Cache.

If You Use W3 Total Cache

  1. Go to Performance → Dashboard.

  2. Click empty all caches.

  3. Reload your page to view the latest version.

💡 If you’re not sure which caching plugin you’re using, check under Plugins → Installed Plugins for “cache” in the name.

🌐 Step 3: Clear CDN Cache (Cloudflare or Similar)

If your site uses a CDN (like Cloudflare, Bunny.net, or StackPath):

Cloudflare

  1. Log in to your Cloudflare Dashboard.

  2. Choose your website.

  3. Go to Caching → Configuration.

  4. Click Purge Everything.

  5. Wait 1–2 minutes and refresh your website.

⚠️ Don’t purge your cache too frequently — it may temporarily slow down performance.

💻 Step 4: Clear Browser Cache

If you still don’t see changes after clearing your site’s cache:

  1. Press Ctrl + F5 (Windows) or Command + Shift + R (Mac).

  2. Or manually clear browser cache in:

    • Chrome: Settings → Privacy → Clear browsing data → Cached images/files.

    • Safari: Preferences → Advanced → Show Develop menu → Empty caches.

    • Edge: Settings → Privacy → Choose what to clear.

💡 Try viewing your site in an incognito/private window — it always loads fresh content.

🧩 Step 5: Clear Server Cache (if applicable)

If your hosting plan includes server-level caching:

  1. Log in to your TK Internet Marketing Client AreaServices → My Services → View Details.

  2. If a Clear Cache or Purge Cache option is available, click it.

  3. Otherwise, open a ticket under Website Support and we’ll clear it for you.

✅ Step 6: Verify Your Updates

Once cache is cleared:

  • Reload your page.

  • Confirm that your latest edits, text, or images are visible.

  • If issues persist, try clearing both WordPress and CDN cache again.
